Here's a quick little post
Here's a couple pictures that i took when we were approaching Scottsbluff, Nebraska, it was really cool flying in here. Plus they just redone the runways so the airport itself looks awesome, as well as the approach. I suggest if anyone does any flying nearby, i would defiantly recommend flying into KBFF.

My Flying Story
Hello let me first start out by introducing myself, my name is Drew. I'am a 19 year old college student at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I'am currently perusing a degree as a professional flight officer. I am currently a Private Pilot in a single engine land airplane, and i am currently working on my instrument rating.
the main purpose of this page is to share with the world my wonderful experiences as a pilot. I am only merely starting my journey as a pilot and have already had some unforgettable experiences that i look forward to sharing with you guys in anyway that i can. Now with that said i can get on with telling you guys about my journey so far as a pilot.
Ever sense i was a kid i have always found myself looking up at the sky every time any sort of airplane flies over, and i always knew that i wanted to be apart of that, whenever i went flying on an airplane i was completely aw stroke, there were no words to even describe how much excitement i felt. As i progressed with age my love for aviation grew and grew, i bought a flight simulator which not only enhanced my love for aviation but it was the beginning of my understanding of the aviation world. In these simulators you are able to get a brief look on what it would be like to be a pilot in real life, you could fly anywhere in the world; and i came to find myself playing flight simulator all the time, and i literally would fly all over the world. Even the super long flights, i didn't mind at all, i would take off out of Denver international airport and i would take a Boeing 747 across oceans and go to anyplace i wanted, even if it meant i had to put the plane on autopilot and do other things while the 13 hour flight was being conducted.
Looking back on those memories now i laugh at myself a little bit, because i literally was such a nerd when it came to flying. However, i am not ashamed of it at all, i absolutely love flying, and this was the beginning for my passion for flying. I continued playing FSX (Flight Simulator 10) through out many years, i even bought a yoke system and throttle quadrant that boosted my love for flying even more. Eventually after many years of sharing my passion and understanding of flying from a simulator perspective it was time to actually peruse the real thing. So after long conversations with my parents they decided they were going to see if i truly wanted to do this, so they spent the money for me to get a discovery flight in a Cessna 172RG (Cutlass), both of my parents came along plus one of the instructors from our local flying club at Centennial airport.
(side note) With my knowledge now of weight and balance i would not have gone in a Cessna 172 with 4 people in it, anyone would tell you just because an aircraft has a certain number of seats does not mean you can fit that many people in it.
However, we got up in the air no problem, and the more important thing is that we got back! So looking back at it now you would hope that they did not completely fill up the airplane with full fuel, and sense we returned safely i'm just gonna pretend that they did not fill it up all the way.
Oh and by the way i do not train with the same people that i did my discovery flight with in case you were wondering.
Now after i did the discovery flight there was no doubt in my mind what i wanted to do, and that was flying! You could say that i got bit by the bug, and there was no going back now. I wanted to get started with my training right away after that, however my parents wanted to "discuss it". At the time that i did my discovery flight i was only 14, so i could start my training but i couldn't solo tell i was 16 and i couldn't get my certificate tell i was 17.
So my parents discussed with me on how i could be able to start this training of mine, they wanted to make sure that i was actually committed and that this was not something that i was just gonna forget about after a couple of years. So they instructed me to do research find out how much it was gonna cost, find out where i was going to do my training, find out the cost of the airplane, find the best rates, etc. i literally had to come up with a plan! i had to do absolutely everything, which is very understandable looking back at it now. They wanted me to be dedicated, and i was.
I drew up their plan like they asked me i did all the research and everything, and it sat like this for almost a year i had the plan drawn up and everything, but the timing wasn't right they were busy with work and other things in the family so we put it off, and we continued to do this for 4 years!!! Until finally i started college at metro and then we finally sat down for real and discussed what we were going to do, and at this point all the research i did before was absolutely worthless, so i had to go back out again and look for the best flight school, and find what the cheapest way we could go about doing this. Finally, after 4 years we sat down with an instructor and we discussed when i was going to start flying! And about a month later, i started working on my private pilot certificate!
Well I hope you enjoyed this lengthy introduction on how my story as a pilot began and i hope you stay up to date on my blog to find out more about the stories i have to tell, and all the adventures i plan to take!
